Today Domingo and I were tied at TOs and I decided to bench both of my players who were playing today in order to hopefully win. Is that a legal move, or did I break an unwritten (or written) rule?

Better not be illegal, sounds like sound strategy.

I've always felt that you should try your hardest to win, and that's what you appear to be doing. There's no rule against benching players that can't help you.
I've already benched players this season for turnover purposes as well, so I applaud your move.

Obviously I thought it was good strategy too, but just to keep things transparent and for future reference it'd be nice to know that I'm doing it with a clear conscience haha

Yeah I have no problem w/ benching players when trying to win. Benching to tank (lose) should'nt be allowed. Congrats on the win landon next time Ill double check to see if you do this against me

Agreed. Tanking vs. Strategy is completely different. If a player will hurt your chances to win, don't play him! Nice move

Agreed. Tanking is what is not allow, and I think Landon made a good move to win this week. Nicely done.
But I still like to point out that currently we have lots of owners think it's okay not to fix their lineup daily because they don't care about this season anymore (they cannot classify as tanking because they do not own their picks for 2014), but here in this league, it's not you like it or not, when you join, you agree to fullfill what this league require. Sorry about using this post to say something not related to Landon's topic, but I would like to get everyone's attention and also hope to get some feedback on this, thank you.

No way this is illegal. This is pure strategy and I'm totally in support of this

Topic #2: I certainly agree with Joe that failing to set a lineup should be viewed as a more serious responsibility. If too many teams consistently neglect this, it cheapens the record of the competing teams and alters the standings as well. Because of the detrimental effect it has on the league, if the LMs decide to put up a vote on penalties for failing to set a lineup after a reasonable period of time, I'd be in favor of that. (Or really any other solution to this problem.) Some of the teams that aren't setting lineups have pretty good talent on their teams, so realistically what's going on is going to have an effect on this season. One of the beautiful things about the H2H format is that every week we start fresh. So even if competing for a championship isn't in reach, there are plenty of smaller goals a team can set to try and remain active: Be a spoiler. Overload a category or 2. Experiment with all guards or all bigs in the Util slot. These are just some ideas. Whatever the case, setting our lineup is a way to show courtesy to the other owners in the league. (And maybe unexpectedly beat them at the same time. You never know. )

No discussion around this.
Of course you're allowed to bench players if you think it will grant you a win.

About benching player IN ORDER TO WIN, there's nothing to discuss.
About teams failing to submit their lineups, that's a bigger issue.
Me and Jose don't have the time right now to check this daily, so we will ask for some help from anyone who want/can do it.
We have been told that TOR and SAC are not setting their lineups, but I have no idea at this point if there are more teams (not) doing it.

And like we talked last season, we will penalise teams that do not set their lineups by losing draft picks (a tanking team losing their first round pick shoud be penalty enough), cap hits and eventually kicking them out.
By the way, we have 2 inactive teams (it seems) so if anyone knows some active guys we will aprecciate it also.

Thanks.
If you could do the Cen-Soe we would appreciate.
Me or Jose can check our league - ATL-NOR
That leaves us with one espn league to keep up with.
