The Charlotte Bobcats have hired new GM/Coach Royce Li for the 2012-2013 season.
This team is in need of a total renovation, and Royce says that he can get the job done. "There are some really good pieces on this team that we can build around. One thing we won't tolerate is a lack of commitment to the team. We expect every player to be all in with the rest of the team and I won't hesitate to make a move if a player steps out of line".
Bobcats fans, the 2012-2013 season just cannot get here fast enough.

Rumor has it that the Bobcats are currently shopping the #2 overall pick. If this is true, it would make an awful lot of sense, as the Bobcats have more than one hole and in such a deep draft, trading down for more could be more beneficial to the team.
When asked whether or not these rumors were true, Bobcats GM Royce just said, "We won't rule out the possibility of trading the pick, but we're perfectly fine with the wide array of choices we have at #2. It will just depend on the deal and should the right deal come along, we would seriously consider trading the pick."
A source from the Bobcats organization also confirmed that the Bobcats wouldn't mind adding a player to the deal not named Kemba or Biyombo if it would net them more. That doesn't necessarily mean the Cats wouldn't deal Kemba or Biyombo though. Which team will step up their game and grab the #2 pick? We'll have to see. Check back for more details as they emerge!

A week has passed, and the Bobcats still hold onto the #2 overall pick. After reports earlier in the week that the Cats were aggressively shopping the pick, the interest level for #2 overall wasn't high enough for them to seriously consider trading it. When asked about the situation regarding #2, GM Landon Li said, "We had a few teams show some interest, but we couldn't find the deal we were looking for. While the pick is still on the block, we're very satisfied with picking our guy at that spot. There's still some time for some teams to put in their last offers though, so you never know what could happen.."
All signs point to the Cats selecting Damian Lillard with the second overall pick. There hasn't been any confirmation of this yet, but we'll see soon enough. The 2012 NBA Dynasty League Draft begins tomorrow at 10:00AM EST.

The regular season is underway and the Bobcats will begin the 2012-2013 season against the Washington Wizards! Cats GM Landon Li has stressed that expectations aren't high this first season as the Bobcats are still a rebuilding team. "We have a few pieces that we really like, but we haven't reached the point where we think we can compete for the championship, which is all that really matters. We are certainly building towards that point though and with our young core and veteran leaders we can't wait to see how the team does this first week!"
The Wizards added Chris Bosh this off season, who will definitely be a challenge for these young Bobcats. We predict that the Cats keep it close, but can't close it out in the end for the victory.
After Day 1: 2-7-0 (Wizards)

After 4 days of battling, the Charlotte Bobcats lead the Washington Wizards by a score of 5-4-0 with 2 days of play remaining.
The bright spot of Charlotte's offense has to be the young guns with Lillard, Kemba and Tobias Harris all going off for big games recently. The free throw shooting as been automatic, but they are losing the battle on the boards easily.
Tomorrow is a big day for the team as the Cats will have a full lineup.
"We're doing a nice job, but the battle on the boards has been lopsided in favor of them thus far and we need to improve in that area to close this game out." - GM Royce Li

The Charlotte Bobcats were able to pull out a close victory over the Washington Wizards by a score of 5-3-1. The Bobcats beat the Wizards in FG%, FT%, 3PM, AST, and PTS.
Damian Lillard led the team with 64 points, 27 assists and 12 rebounds and is living up the the hype as the #2 overall draft pick so far. Up next for the Bobcats are the always tough Brooklyn Nets, led by point guard Deron Williams.
"The first win was a great one for our team, but in the big scheme of things it's only one win and we need to keep battling and strive to reach our full potential as a basketball team. We made some moves that might hurt us in the present by trading Haywood and Sessions, but giving Kemba and Biyombo more playing time will help us grow more and hopefully become a playoff team faster." - GM Royce Li

The Bobcats suffered a disappointing loss to the Magic this past week by a score of 3-6-0. The Bobcats came out flat on both sides of the ball and their lack of rebounding led them to their first loss of the year. Even after the loss though, Bobcats GM Royce Li was in high spirits.
"We played a very solid team this week, albeit a winless team, but they had some impact players that could do work on both sides of the ball. We need to improve in some areas and we'll look to improve vs the Hawks this next week." The Hawks come in with a record of 1-2 and are led by their GM Bruce.
When asked about who the team's MVP was thus far? Royce Li said, "It's a tough decision, but I'm going to have to go with Kemba Walker. He has given Damian Lillard a lot of good advice and he's still young himself. I'm excited to see Kemba and Lillard grow together as I think we have two of the most dynamic guards in the game today."
This season is off to great start. Check back in for more info on the Hawks matchup.

The Bobcats have officially lost to the Atlanta Hawks by a score of 3-6-0. The Hawks mixed in good rebounding with great passing en route to an easy win which looked closer than it actually was. The Bobcats lost the FT% and steals battle surprisingly, two categories they had gotten accustomed to winning. Could this be what we should expect from the Bobcats from now on after a hot 2-0 start to the year?
"Maybe, we knew from the start that we were still rebuilding. Some weeks we'll be able to pull off surprising wins, but against teams that are competing for a ring, we won't deny that we're the underdogs. That being said, it's a learning process as we've been saying all along and this loss is just another learning experience for our young guys to absorb." - GM Royce Li
The Bobcats have recently completed a trade that will send Corey Brewer to Atlanta and bring Jose Calderon to Charlotte. Li said that the Bobcats needed a veteran to come in and "..mentor our young point guards on the art of passing." and Calderon couldn't be more perfect for the job. As for Calderon's security in Charlotte, let's just say he shouldn't go looking for a house just yet.
This trade is still undergoing Commissioner Review, but there is little doubt that it won't pass.
The Bobcats (2-2-0) face a Miami Heat (3-0-1) squad coming off an impressive win against the Washington Wizards. Will the Bobcats pull off an upset? We'll have to wait and see.

The Bobcats lost their fourth game in a row Sunday night, falling to the Knicks 3-6-0 even with a career night from forward Andrew Nicholson. The Bobcats again failed miserably to attack the glass, losing 126-99 in the rebounding category. They also uncharacteristically lost the blocks category 11-10. While most believe the Bobcats are getting unlucky with their close losses, this is just what has been expected of this young, developing team that still has a lot to learn.
"Another learning experience for the team..hopefully we can turn it around next week vs the 4-2 76ers, but they are a very solid team and it will be a tough matchup. We play in a very tough division and conference, but as long as I see every player out there giving it their best shot we'll be okay." - GM Royce Li
The Bobcats recently acquired forward Shawn Marion in a simple deal that sent Orlando's 2013 1st round pick to the Mavericks. Marion should provide a great veteran presence for this young team as well as help out in the short term in the boards category.
Will the Bobcats pull off the upset to beat the 76ers? Stay tuned.

Welcome to Charlotte, Tyson. The Bobcats have acquired center Tyson Chandler from the Brooklyn Nets, the Charlotte Inquirer reports. This is an aggressive move by GM Royce Li and it shows that the Cats may be closer to a playoff berth than the general public thinks. Chandler is due a hefty amount of money the next 3 years but he will step in immediately as the starting center and the only startable true center on this team (Kwame Brown has been benched for the past few weeks). In return, the Nets received up and coming rookie Andrew Nicholson and a potential sharpshooter in John Jenkins. They also got back their 2014 first round pick that they sold to the Bobcats for $5M earlier in the year. Will this be enough for a Bobcats playoff push? Stay tuned.

After a two month long hiatus, Bobcats Live is back up and running and here to report that the now 6-8 Bobcats got an easy win over the Brooklyn Nets last week. In Chandler's first game against his former team he racked up rebounds like a man possessed and is the MVP of this week's game. Next up for the Bobcats are the New York Knicks, who have a disappointing record of 3-11 and the Bobcats should have no problem taking care of business this week. This season has been a nice surprise as the mix of young players like Lillard and Kemba with veterans Chandler and Marion has given this team a better record than expected, but the Bobcats will still need some help to make the playoffs. Either way, things are looking up for now and the future for this up and coming team. Stay tuned!
