Its been a crazy couple of weeks for the Magics second GM of the season. But the GM is happy with the state of the team. The magic have crawled from a cellar dweller to challenging the Heat in the first week. Only the 1 magic player remains, Jameer Nelson, and he seems happy with the team that GM Jay is putting together with the team saying "When we start clicking this team will be scary."
Additions of Courtney Lee, Pau Gasol, Jared Dudley and Brandon Bass slotting into the starting 5 and with other new acquisitions vetereans Devin Harris, Mike Dunleavy, Kwame Brown and Ronnie Brewer to go with youngsters Byron Mullens, E'Twaun Moore and the injured Iman Shumpert this team will hav a very potent deep team.
The Magic's first game of the season is against reigning NBA champs the Miami Heat. After day 1 the contest is close. Miami had more players play and some injuries which my lineup took full advantage on. The magic hav a distinct advantage in blocks and rebounds and that will probably continue over the next 5 days. Categories that will decide the matchup are FG%, FT%, AST and 3PM. These are all closely contested categories which Miami currently lead 3-1 (Magic lead FG% by 0.002!!). Miami will be hard to beat in PTS and STL. Magic seem to hav 3 dominant categories of BLK, REBS and TO. Miami are still the favorites at this stage but the Magic GM is not putting an upset off the cards. Stand by for Day 2 of week 1 matchup.
