i agree to accept this deal - it fills a current need for the roster. It's a chance to add another big to the lineup, yes we lose a draft pick but Thompson fills an immediate need, the feeling in Motown is that he's worth the pick.

Kings Confirm. Though Thompson is playing fine and has a nice contract, he wasn't exactly filling my needs. I feel as if i can nab a better player in the draft rather than keeping Thompson.

Sorry guys, but DET 1st is going to be a top lottery pick (odds are top 5) which in any given year can get you a top 3 pick, and Jason Thompson is not good enough, doesn't have enough potential, and doesn't have a good enough contract to get you a pick like this.

I like J Thompson, and while I think it's an overpay, that's ok because future top picks doesn't necessarily = success. I think I will barely approve this because he's proved to be good when given time

Too little for such a, presumably, high pick...

I agree with Bobcats. This pick has good odds of resulting in a better player. However, Thompson is decent and will be around for years to come.

I think Jason Thompson is an above average player. But the moves doesn't make any sense for Detroit. They have essentially 3 very good trade assets in Lawson, Monroe and this 1st. Other than those, they just have a lot of holes to fill. They will not be able to compete this year even with the acquisition of Thompson, and most likely or not, the pick will still be a top 5 pick. And as much as I like Jason Thompson, he doesn't worth a top 5 pick. And for Detroit, they will be in a much better position to be better with that pick than Thompson.
Sorry, veto, 2-3
