Kings get: Pg: Chris Paul 12/13(17.78 M.)
Sf: Kyle Singler (also plays sg) 12/13(1.00 M) 13/14(1.05 M.) 14/15(1.09 M.) 15/16(1.36 M.)

Proposed by the Hawks and we accept. Not many people would pass up the chance to get Cp3, and we couldnt here. We feel we give up GREAT assets/building blocks in Lin, Patterson, Prince, and especially AD. We admit Patterson has tapered off, and has found himself in coaches doghouse but this being a dynasty we know like most players he will get out of his funk and produce the way he was producing pre injury. We also feel there is a substantial risk in losing Cp3 after the season with some teams(most notably Milwauakee and Denvers) cap flexibility and is why we asked that Singler be involved as he could be Detroits sf of the future. Tinsley holds no real value if Utah makes a trade for a pg or Mo williams returns but welcome any production. Best of luck to Atlanta and their bright future.

Hawks accept.
On face, we are excited about the idea of getting Linsanity, AD, and Patterson. However we took a look at the Kings side as well. As a new GM of the Hawks, I have a new perspective on the team. And the SOLE reason reason we are 9-2 has been because of CP3. Nevertheless, we feel it is important to get younger as well. We also take Prince's contract, which is a huge negative (considering we have to deal with Perkins and Bass already). All in all, we hope the new combo of Paul and Westbrook can carry the Kings deep. Good dealing.

I'm sorry to do this, as i truly hate to veto a trade in a new GM's first day in, but this is pretty bad stuff.
CP3 is on an expiring contract and is UFA (if he was RFA it would be better). That's it. The chances of SAC getting CP3 for more than 6-10 weeks (depends on playoffs) are just as good as they would be if they traded away the players they don't want after the season, before the FA. It's the same.
They could trade Lin and Patterson for decent to good guys on better contracts, and AD for a lot... And they would free the cap for CP3 the same.
In terms of future, they could also trade those guys for top picks what would free the same cap to go after CP3.
They basically are trading Lin+Patterson+AD (and Prince bad contract, but one that some contenders could take for "free") for 6 weeks of a banged up CP3 and Cap dumping.
Are CP3 stats good enough for this to be looked as a All In move by SAC?
Not at all, because SAC team gets worse for the season with this trade. Just run the numbers, it's not even that close.
So, the trade is bad for the present, and horrible for the future...

It would be a fair price (for a T5 player and T1 PG) if he was signed through multiple years.
With his contract, against the production of Lin, AD and Patterson, it's way too much, specially since this would probably take the Kings out of contention this year.

If the trade actually improve the chance for Sac to win, then I would have to think hard, but after look at Sac's roster after the trade, that would actually kill his chance instead of improving. And while doing that, he give up his future: Lin, Patterson, AD. All of them are nice pieces. So, sorry........
