Ty Lawson is the first restricted free agent that could bail on his former team. With only one offer sheet extend, DEN's GM put his cash where his mouth was and offered Ty a Lebron-like contract. The Celtics have now 24 hours to decide if they want to match the offer or not.

What a ridiculous offer, Joe may regret this soon enough

He said the Lawson would return home, so... We'll see what the Celtics have to say about it.

Apparently the new mobile version of Proboards doesn't show the chart.
That's impressive Joe. I don't think it's crazy though after being tempted to do the same thing.

I think it's just way too much for a player that isn't anything special, per say, in an age where productive point guards are aplenty. If it was a guy like Harden I think it would make more sense, but Joe has been looking for a PG..I guess it fills a need too after Lowry leaves after this year.

Whatever Jose decides, I think it shows the value of private bids.

Totally agree.
Jose would have keep him for a lot, lot, lot less if he didnt go public with his offer.
Just like I told him by the way...

The Boston Celtics organization has decided not to match Ty Lawson's contract.
While they feel Ty is a very nice player, they didn't want to commit the enormous amount of cash that Denver splashed Lawson's way.
Ty Lawson moves to the Denver Nuggets, with the following contract:
$15,50 / $17,05 / $18,76 / $20,64 TO
