Grizzlies TRADE: -- Luol Deng CLE SF, $14.28M (2014) -- $1.5M in cash
Magic TRADE: -- Jared Dudley LAC SG/SF, 13: $4.25M; 14: $4.25M; 15: $4.25M (TO) -- Omri Casspi CLE SF, 13: $2.60M -- Chase Budinger MIN SF, 13: $6.22M; 14: $6.85M; 15: $7.53M; 16: $8.28M -- 2014 1st (LAL) -- 2015 1st (LAC) -- 2015 2nd (ATL)
I accept. Pick up some solid 1sts; not bad for a guy who would be gone anyway

Assuming this is allowed i accept. This is entirely about next year. It cuts a lot of cap for next year. The loss of cap here plus my 2 drops gets me back under cap for next year. I will be signing some 14 day contracts to get back over player limit/

We'll accept trades posted a little after the deadline.
The TC can start voting.

Approve 1-0, This trade works out for both as I see Jay trying to improve his team for this year. (he cannot resist), and for Memphis, it's the best package (of course it comes with Dudley and Budinger's crap contract), but those draft picks he received will be very valueable when it comes playoff time.

I think people haven't looked at the boxscores for Deng.
Dudley on a good contract, Budinger in an so-and-so contract, two 1sts and a 2nd for 4 weeks of the #260 of the last month rankings?
Way too much.
Veto (2-1)

First I have to say that I totally understand what Orlando thinks in this deal. He believes Budinger is a negative (I 100% agree because of a terrible contract) and he must also believe Dudley is too a negative (I disagree).
The expiring doesn't mean much but he's adding two firsts and a second also.
All of this for an expiring Deng. I see how cutting all this cap may seem the right thing to do, but its just too many pieces being thrown ton the middle just to do that.
And the fact that Deng is not good enough that he can improve Orlando playoff chances (not even of winning one round) makes me veto this trade.
In fact I don't believe this is even close for me tbh.
Veto 2-2

guys (TC), we need 1 more vote on this one. It definitely need an answer for Jay whether he will have Deng for playoff or not.

Well, I have to agree with Tiago and José on this one, and that doesn't happen as often as one might think... Adding those two firsts to this deal is what makes this vetoable in my opinion. Deng is an expiring whose numbers are not that good since the trade, so there's no way that Memphis can come out of this with better stats and 3 draft picks for a 4 week rental.
Veto (2-3)
Sorry about being this late...

I don't know how I missed this, I'd like to apologize to both Memphis and Orlando, but I would have easily approved. All of the vetoes mentioned that Deng doesn't help Jay for next year...you failed to properly read his explanation for doing the trade then. Assuming this is allowed i accept. This is entirely about next year. It cuts a lot of cap for next year. The loss of cap here plus my 2 drops gets me back under cap for next year. I will be signing some 14 day contracts to get back over player limit The committee just assumed that he was making the deal to help his chances this year (based on the vetoes I read) and that just isn't correct according to his explanation. It doesn't matter how good Deng is, Orlando would have cut more than $10M in cap space next year, enough to sign an impact player better than Deng. The loss of two firsts is worth that in Jay's eyes, and I wouldn't have disagreed. Why does Deng's stats matter? Orlando clearly states he just wants to clear cap for next year. I just don't understand why Deng's actual value is being brought into question. I think this is a trade that should really be looked at for a revote, as the trade committee members who vetoed seemed to miss the actual point of this trade for both teams.

With that logic you would approve if I send GAy, Kanter, James Anderson, two 1sts and a 2nd for Deng. I would save more than 20M. I think that what I wrote pretty much proves that I didnt miss the point "First I have to say that I totally understand what Orlando thinks in this deal. In fact, that's a ridiculous comparison. Gay, Kanter, and Anderson combined have way more upside than Budinger and Dudley.

that i wrote after the other part. The $ is not a valid justification for me, so only if the expiring was making a difference I would approve it. This way is a no-no for me.
I cant compare? Why? I feel they are overpaid so I want to dump them. So I would just give them to someone, adding 3 picks along the process...
someone is overpaid if they earn too much for their production. It can be a 1M guy or a 20M guy.

I understand why you think that, but I just feel like you really hamstrung the Magic in terms of cap space for next year. That's $10M they can't spend and now have to pay to Dudley and Budinger and even more based on the picks he makes with those picks.
That being said, what I said about a revote was really just heat of the moment. This trade shouldn't be treated any differently than any other vetoed trade.
