Just a request for a clarification by the LM's:
In the League Rules, under "Salary Cap" we have
The Salary Cap (SC) for this league will be 70.00M. Since it is possible to move Cap in trades, the maximum possible SC a team can accumulate is 80.00M and the minimum possible SC a team can have is 50.00M.
Also, under "Trades", in the "Things that can be traded" section, we have
- Cap - A team can’t receive more than 10.00M total or trade away more than 20.00M for a season, nor can it send or acquire more than 5.00M in a single trade.
No contradiction arises from both rules. However, reading them I get the feeling that the original intention was that no team should ever have above $80M or below $50M, whereas the second item implies that no team can "receive more than $10M total or trade away more than $20M total" for a season.
So consider the scenario where Owner A, by means of trades, receives $5M, then receives another $5M, then sends away $2M, then receives $2M. He would have received a total $12M, but would never have been above $10M. As far as I understand this is not allowed by the current rules, although I think the original intention was that it should be allowed.
So the question is simply if this should be allowed or not and if the rules should be clarified on this point.
Thanks.
Disclaimer: I have a clear interest in this since I have already received $10M this year; I think it would be understandable if any modification deemed necessary applied only for next season.
P.S.: Congrats on finding out about the MIN/PHI situation and banning the guy, 100% sure no mistake is possible if all the facts Jose mentioned are true.
