The second of the Phoenix Suns PG in consecutive days got the same amount of atention than the previous one. However, Bledsoe is already more expensive than his new teammate. There were four teams that really wanted to get a PG out of RFA and Spurs' GM Adam made sure he wasn't going out without really trying it. Given the Rockets' GM Loren offer it seems that he really devaluated Bledsoe's market value and thought he was in the clear or wasn't interested in spending any extra dime now that his playing time is in jeopardy. Houston now has 24 hours to decide if they intend on keeping Eric Bledsoe and will match the offer made by Adam to take him 200 miles west along Texas. However things pan out, one thing is sure and that is Eric's contract for next season: 17,57$ / 19,32$ / 21,25$ / 23,38$ (TO)Derrick Favors is next, with his deadline at 11:59pm ET of the 15th of August. Keep your offers coming.

Thank god I traded him. I had no idea his market value would be so high.

Thank god I traded him. I had no idea his market value would be so high. Very happy I dealt him for DeRozan Not happy I traded Cousins now, but dealing Bledsoe was a good idea I think

Just for clarification - if I understand this correctly, matching without the TO doesn't remove the 4th year from the contract. It simply converts it to a guaranteed salary. (Otherwise the OCV is affected.) ?

Correct.
Houston had two options:
- Matching with the TO
- Matching without the TO but with the same four years and same contract. This way the OCV is the same (and they can use their anual TO in another player).
This also allows an owner who already used his TO for that year to match one of his RFA if the winning bid has a TO on it.

Since Bledsoe is now more expensive than PG13, I'm also happy that I traded him in order to retain PG...

I'd love to hear from Adam on why he bid so much for a guy like Bledsoe who is still in an iffy situation contract wise in real life. I expected Bledsoe to get maybe $15M first year at the very most

I think there's still room for growth with Bledsoe. He's one of the players I have more confidence in as still being a highly-valued commodity in 2015/16.
He's asking for essentially a max contract in real life. I had a little hesitation considering that no one is giving it to him. But that may have more to do with his real life RFA status. In baseball, the maxim is "draft skills, not roles." While it's a little less true in the NBA, Bledsoe seems like the "skills" guy even if the "role" isn't the greatest.
I agree that 14-15m was a better range, but to have a shot at going 20% over, 17.5 still didn't seem like that big of a leap.
In summary: it's all guesswork, and I have no clue.
