Gordon Hayward was the best SG/SF available in RFA that had two working legs. That must have counted for something since he had interest from a lot of teams. Original owner José made what was apparently a strong offer that beat everyone else's except for Loren's bid. Like Favors, if an owner wants a player he knows what he has to do in order to get thim. Show him the money. So, the Celtics have 24 hours to decide if they want to match or not HOU's offer for Hayward. The young forward's contract will now be: $17,50 / $19,25 / $21,18 / $23,30Greg Monroe is next, with his deadline at 11:59pm ET of the 17th of August. Keep your offers coming.

The Celtics will not match HOU's offer for Lebron James. I mean Gordon Hayward.
We still remain very focused in building a Championship team and decided not to use 20% of our salary cap in a player that hasn't cracked the T50 stat wise in any of his 4 years in the NBA, considering it would do more harm than good for the future.
Best of luck to Gordon and Loren. I hope they have the same success as Ty and Joe last season.
