Hi everyone,
We're near the end of the regular season and the upcoming Trade Deadline is next week, so it's your last opportunity to improve your chances for the Playoffs or for next season, depending on your current goals.
The Trade Deadline is next Thursday at the end of the last NBA game of that night, just to ensure there are no injuries discovered after voting and guaranteeing nobody has an excuse related to timezone interpretations.
Along with the usual Activity Check (please vote on the poll instead of just writing you're here, it makes our job easier), you all know that the Rule Committee has already been put to work during Phase 1, and here are the results of their actions so far, regarding how the Trade Deadline is approached in the Rules:
CALENDAR
League’s Trade Deadline – One week after the NBA Trade Deadline. It’s also the deadline to make the decisions on every Option for next season.
The Committee unanismouly agreed that there's no sense for TO's and QO's to be determined so early, so they will move to the end of the season. There was also some discussion regarding the placing of the deadline and the prevailing vote was to keep the one we have, replicating the NBA but giving time for Owners to adjust. The following Rules were altered or enhanced:
CALENDAR
League’s Trade Deadline – One week after the NBA Trade Deadline.
Contract Options - Until one week after the NBA Playoffs end.
CONTRACTS
Team Options
- The deadline for picking up TOs is one week after the end of the NBA Playoffs.
Also unspecified in the Rules was the impact of the deadline on 14D contracts, which led to a more detailed discussion, so the following information was added ensuring the correct use of these contracts and, again, mimicking the NBA.
CONTRACTS
14D Contracts
- 14D contracts can only be offered while Free Agency is open
- All 14D contracts, including active one, will end with the Regular Season and will not carry over to the Playoffs
