Nuggets Trade $5M of cap space
Mavericks Trade Amir Johnson - $6.85 | $7.53 | $8.28 Cody Zeller - $2.53 | $2.91 | $3.64 2016 DAL 1st
Mavericks accept. Another trade in a span of minutes for me, and both are in a way connected. I've now managed to gain $10M of cap space, pushing my total to a max of $80M, and in essence I paid 2 1st round picks and Cody Zeller to get Amir off my books and to gain 10M of cap. This were two moves to position me for a title run. This individual trade with Joe is in two layers, first is to add Zeller to get Amir and his 7m contract of the roster and the other part is to lose one pick for 5M of cap. I actually like Amir and hate the fact that I had to pay to get him out, he signed a 2 year 24M deal in Boston and could start there, plus his 2+1 contract is not that bad at 7m per with an option for year 3, I expect him to gain some value during the season, but I just don't have time to wait on it, need flexibility for trading and FA.
Good dealing with you Joe as always, and good luck in your future dealings.

I accept. This trade is all about Dallas want to add as much cap space as possible for FA. And for me, adding a late 1st for next year and Cody Zeller works for my plan. And I honestly think Amir Johnson can be very productive and I maybe able to flip him for something more useful later, thanks Rocky for another deal.

Fair deal here, but I prefer Denver's side a bit. Johnson may have a little value and the pick and Zeller should be solid

Rather have DAL side of the deal as I don't like Zeller and Amir contract is pretty bad imo
Approve 2-0

I never understood why Rocky was so down on Amir...
Nevertheless, this trade will give Dallas 13M and some change in cap space and some trade assets to Denver, something that makes sense considering the goals mention by both teams for this season and Joe's usual strategies.
Approved (3-0)

Approved (3-0) I know this isn't the place to comment, just want to add I'm not really down on Amir, if I wan't trying to go all in I would never trade him like this, but I have Kawhi to extend and have that calculated into my cap all the time, so Amir out + 5M of cap gives me a ton of flexibility in trades. Was trying to move Amir for a 2nd for a few weeks but had no takers, so I guess the whole league was a bit down on him unfortunatelly for me. But before FA that's expected, most GM's want to preserve cap, after FA when the pool of players would be drained, I'd find a team much faster. Gota take risks in this game though hehe.
