Yes Joe, i guess that's right.
I had 0.07 cap space. If i dropped Scola, Thabo and Shved with cap hit i would have 0.98 cap to sign rookies. I would only be able to sign 1, and using this rule i signed 3. I really do think that its a good rule, even if it was another GM using it.

My suggestion is it takes different cap hit. If you drop someone with 1.21m to sign a 0.75m rookie, you should still take 0.46m cap hit.

I agree that there's an advantage, as I said in my previous post.
What I was trying to make clear is that it's not a loophole. It's exactly how we thought the rule to be used.

Joe, I don't understand what the fuss is all about. This has been part of the rules since Day 1: dynastyleaguebball.proboards.com/thread/1588/calendarAnd we expect GM's to take advantage of the Rules every step of the way, since it's the only way to find if the Rules work or not. What Roberto did here was what we expected the Rule to accomplish in the first place, allowing owners to replace low-tier players (with contracts 1 year $2.99, 2y $1.49 and 3y $0.99) and being able to commit to new players entering the league while they develop. It was also expected for the rule to have marginal cap gains for the GMs using it, as a natural effect of having this in place. As most existing rulebooks, even in real life NBA, ours has rules/guidelines that delimit what we believe is a fair and fun competition. Here's one example from real life NBA of how GM's tinker with the rules to extract maximum value of their assets: With this in mind, the rule is in place to give a wider variety of strategical options to managers. The same goes for 14-day contracts, the use of MLE's (where a GM splashes a contract worth 7 OCV to win an UFA and can cut him right after with no cap penalties).
